- Talked informally about the blended services training
- Timeline for implementing the single service desk:
- Thode - January 2009
- Innis - May 2009
- Mills - September 2010
- Training for blended service begins for both Thode and Innis this month
- Training methods: presentations, meetings, demonstrations, hands-on activities, online tutorials, audio-visual materials, practice questions, job shadowing, guest speakers
- Timing: probably 1-2 sessions per week (sessions will be repeated to accommodate different staff schedules)
- Our objectives:
- to provide lots of training before the single service desk begins operation
- to provide lots of support once it begins e.g., initially you’ll observe trained research help staff members provide assistance; then you’ll provide assistance with trained research help staff present; then you’ll provide assistance on your own knowing that a trained staff member can be contacted immediately if required
